Shanty Workshop 2.00pm Saturday 21st March 2026

This Shanty Workshop will be brought to you by members of Isle 'Ave A Shanty, who are in concert later on the same day and local Choir Leader and Singer/Songwriter, Julie Holland. The workshop will include a brief history of the Sea Shanty as an art-form, with some songs introduced by the members of Isle 'Ave A Shanty and then Julie will lead the participants through of some of the Shanties that will be performed in the evening, with three part harmony lines so that you can sing along with the group in the concert. When we held a similar workshop in 2024, everyone had great fun and produced some amazing sounds. The singing part of the workshop is suitable for anyone who can "hold a tune", even if your singing experience is limited to your own bathroom!
